Lockdown and early dismissal at school yesterday
« on: January 08, 2010, 05:05:07 AM »
My kids' high school was evacuated after a lock down yesterday. Early in the morning during the first class the lockdown started. The kids had to stay in the same classroom for about 3.5 hours until the school was evacuated. Police searched the high school. The school was evacuated about 12:45 noon.

Reason? Somebody found some spent cartridge brass in a trash bin.

Isn't that something? Jeez, we all used to bring spent brass to school to use for playing marbles at recess.

The news didn't say whether they were spent ammo or not, a janitor found them in a garbage can the night before the lockdown.

Really! How were they used? We were allowed to take a pocket knife to school, and played several games with them at recess, but I don't recall using spent cases play play marbles.

I line three spent brass up in a bowling pin configuration. You take two shots at them from a certain distance. If you knock them all down, I give you a marble. If you don't knock them all down, I get your marble.
