Yeah I was all set to get in the middle of why this was a bad idea. Have a safe and Merry Christmas.

By the Time Washington gets done whacking your oil, healthcare and pocket book, chasing Bison with a 357 may be the only honorable way for us warriors to go down...

I don't know, the last bison I saw killed could have been shot with a .357 :o, as it was a 7mm mag behind the ear did the job.

I'd go with a Hornet instead. Them 45gr. hollow points would be devastating on bison. :D :D

I think that Hornet just may be overkill Spanky! Them there bison are such fragile, docile critters!

I don't think the bison would be able to figure out how to work the lever.

Better to get him a semi in .223.

Aw cmon now.... I 've seen a couple of bulls showing off with a model 92 using an oversized-Chuck Conners loop that fit perfectly in their hooves!!!     Those ChikFilet cows couldn't hold a candle to the Buffs. :D ;D :)

I saw the topic and I wanted to see what kind of idiot would try a .357 on a Buf.  You got me!!!!  If the health care passes we will be back to doing it like the Indians since gun control will be next!

Merry Christmas, May you all have a new Handi under the tree!!!!!

You know, if what has been said on the net about the 5.7 is true, you could use that. :D

Stumpjmpr, I thought this would be the best way for the most people to see my Christmas greetings. I think it worked. Merry Christmas to all and to all a good day.

I have a friend who fancies himself an expert on all things.  The other day he was telling me that with "proper shot placement" the 22 lr would take any animal on earth.  I'm reminded of the line from John Wayne, "life is hard if your're stupid."  Meanwhile, I'm trying to set him up a grizzley hunt with his 22.  Any takers to guide him?  I just want video.

Mechanic:
Your post reminded me of a story I read in Outdoor Life back in the early 1950's, about an Alaska resident that had shot upwards of 20 Brown Bears with a 22 hornet (one shot kills) included in the article was a picture of him. His head shaved and 90-100 stitches sewing his scalp back into place, evidently he survived. Even stupid people get lucky sometimes.
And Merry Christmas to all
