I bought a new Savage model 12 target varmit 6BR 1-12 twist. List price $1,345.00 got iy for $1,000.00. Shot it the other day and it really shot great, I won't even tell of the 5 shot group I got at 100 yards. But as for the service it is outstanding. The rifle has a lever bolt release and it was very diificult to work. I let a suposedly Gunsmith work on it. When he returned the rifle it wouldn't stay cocked. I returned it too Savage they fixed it at no charge even though I admitted I shouls have sent it to them in the first place as the rifle is brand new. I got it back in a week and no charge, Outstanding company, I am a fan of Savage now. I have just ordered the same rifle in 6.5-284. Out of the box it shoots like a custom rifle, You couldn't build one for the price of the Savage to shoot that well. Lou
