44 Mag Shikari

Just purchased a 44 Mag Shikari and want opinions on how well they shoot 300 grain bullets. Will be shooting gas check hardcast bullets and need to know what diameter bullets to try. Any ideas where to find a replacement cleaning rod? Haven't found one yet online.

 I dont know about the 300gr but they shoot my 265gr loads very well. I get 1'' groups at 75 yds with open sights. Congrats on the new purchase.

Best bet on the cleaning rod is to make one yourself from hardwood dowel. Kurt

If you can't find a cleaning rod, this one looks close. Take off the wood handle and add a short dowel piece:

I would think you could have Hubbards make a replacement rod.  See the sticky in the Huntsman forms.  A+ quality work.

I've been looking for a Shikari 44 mag for some time.  Great find.

Mine shoots the Speer 270 pretty well as well as my horded supply of Black Tallons. I lost (set asside) the cleaning rod and never looked back.

I have an extra that was on a huntsman. The wood handle is broken. Should be fairly easy to replace.
