I know almost nothing about older western guns, and was wondering if there were break open long range rifles like the H&R Buffalo, or were they all falling block guns like the Sharps?  Thanks for any info...I got the itchin for a big slow bullet...Im thinking a 45/70 would cure it ;D
I've got to many but never enough!!!!

It is my understanding that the original was the Wesson & Herrington back in those days.
I can not express to you the enjoyment I get out of my BC...it is the poor man's Sharps!

There was a Wesson and Harrington "tip rifle" that was a break action, but it had a release in front of the trigger guard.  More like a CVA Optima.
If he's carrying a singleshot, don't expect a warning shot!

This is the original Wesson and Harrington Tip-up rifle.
