Is there some doubt as to whether the guy actually did the killing? Why is he being called the alleged shooter?

quite "PC" we must not prejudge...even if you have a film of him shooting others they would play it like this. Of course he should be presumed innocent when he steps into court and then let the jury decide on the evidence presented his guilt or innocence.

yet this "PC" crap is way out of hand, we as individuals have the right to say what we think regardless of the evidence or the decision of a jury.

He is guilty, he was driven by his religious beliefs, and he should be executed for what he has done.

Well it seems the ALLEGED SHOOTER, ALLEGEDLY GOT HIS ALLEGED BUTT SHOT OFF BY AN ALLEGED FEMALE POLICE OFFICER.
I wonder how ole Allah would have liked that if this loser had went ahead and died? A Muslim warrior sent to the "unhappy wanting ground", by a woman.
As the media runs with this Army screw up, it will only get worse and more frustrating. Wait and see. ;)

Innocent until proven guilty unless of course you have to use your pistol in self defense on the street then they will refer to you as the murderer, who shot that poor needy person who was just trying to rob him.
the nation that forgets it defenders will itself be forgotten

Officials: U.S. Aware of Hasan Efforts to Contact al Qaeda
Army Major in Fort Hood Massacre Used 'Electronic Means' to Connect with Terrorists
By RICHARD ESPOSITO, MATTHEW COLE and BRIAN ROSS
Nov. 9, 2009

U.S. intelligence agencies were aware months ago that Army Major Nidal Hasan was attempting to make contact with people associated with al Qaeda, two American officials briefed on classified material in the case told ABC News.

It is not known whether the intelligence agencies informed the Army that one of its officers was seeking to connect with suspected al Qaeda figures, the officials said.

One senior lawmaker said the CIA had, so far, refused to brief the intelligence committees on what, if any, knowledge they had about Hasan's efforts.

CIA director Leon Panetta and the Director of National Intelligence, Dennis Blair, have been asked by Congress "to preserve" all documents and intelligence files that relate to Hasan, according to the lawmaker.

On Sunday, Senator Joseph Lieberman (D-CT) called for an investigation into whether the Army missed signs as to whether Hasan was an Islamic extremist.

"If Hasan was showing signs, saying to people that he had become an Islamist extremist, the U.S. Army has to have a zero tolerance," Lieberman told Fox News Sunday.

Investigators want to know if Hasan maintained contact with a radical mosque leader from Virginia, Anwar al Awlaki, who now lives in Yemen and runs a web site that promotes jihad around the world against the U.S.

In a blog posting early Monday titled "Nidal Hassan Did the Right Thing," Awlaki calls Hassan a "hero" and a "man of conscience who could not bear living the contradiction of being a Muslim and serving in an army that is fighting against his own people."

According to his site, Awlaki served as an imam in Denver, San Diego and Falls Church, Virginia.

The Associated Press reported Sunday that Major Hasan attended the Falls Church mosque when Awlaki was there.

The Telegraph of London reported that Awlaki had made contact with two of the 9/11 hijackers when he was in San Diego.

He denied any knowledge of the hijacking plot and was never charged with any crime. After an intensive investigation by the FBI, Awlaki moved to Yemen.

People who knew or worked with Hasan say he seemed to have gradually become more radical in his disapproval of the war in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The warning signs were there.  The US Army and the FBI ignored those warning signs.  Eight long years after 911 and the federal agencies and departments are not talking to each other.  The FBI was monitoring Hasan's crazy online stuff and they did not tell the Us Army.

The iman of the local TX Muslim community, Osmand Danquah, recognized the fact that this officer was a nutcase.  Danquah refused to allow Hasan to be the leader of  the Ft. Hood mosque.

Quote
Osman Danquah, co-founder of the Islamic Community of Greater Killeen, said he was disturbed by Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan’s persistent questioning and recommended the mosque reject Hasan’s request to become a lay Muslim leader at the sprawling Army post.

Danquah said Hasan never expressed anger toward the Army or indicated any plans for violence, but during the second of two conversations they had over the summer, Hasan seemed almost incoherent, he said.

“But what if a person gets in and feels that it’s just not right?” Danquah recalled Hasan asking him.

“I told him, ‘There’s something wrong with you,’ ” Danquah told The Associated Press during an interview Saturday at Fort Hood. “I didn’t get the feeling he was talking for himself, but something just didn’t seem right.”

..........................

During his talks with Hasan, Danquah, 61, said he told him that Muslims were fighting each other in Afghanistan, Pakistan and the Palestinian territories, and that American soldiers with objections to serving overseas had recourse to voice such concerns.

“As a Muslim, you come into a community and the way you integrate normally — I didn’t see that kind of integration,” he said. Danquah, a retired Army first sergeant and Gulf War veteran, did not tell the military about his conversations with Hasan.
