Ive killed deer with quite a few calibers, some big, some small, but Ive never killed one with a .243 until tonight. Walking in to hang a stand where a cut beanfield and beet field come together, and after about a 3/4 mile walk lugging a climbing stand and rifle, I saw a doe standing quartering away, about 35 yards in the woods from the field edge. I put a 95 gr Fusion about 6 inches ahead of the rear leg, and it blew through the far front shoulder, making a mess of everything in its path. She ran maybe 40 yards and piled up. My favorite part about the light kicking .243 is that I never broke eye relief, and watched the whole thing through the scope, and knew right off it was a hit. There was no blood trail, most likely do to the shot placement, but didnt need one
