trigger pull H&R

I know that Raynor has a complete post about reducing trigger pull on an H&R.  Anybody know if McPherson's suggestion actually works?  It seems so simple.

That's addressed in the FAQs somewhere, several members have broken the hammer sear notch off doing it, I discussed this with Mic, all of his work was done on older H&R Inc firearms, not current or recent production, it's likely due to changes in trigger and hammer materials and heat treating. You can try it using less force to see how it works, but ultimately you'll probably want to do an actually trigger job on it.
