Ejector to extractor
« on: October 31, 2009, 09:47:38 AM »
I have an ejector model.  Now I just read where extractors are manual driven and not spring.  I know I could do some grinding on the ejector and make it an extractor....but wouldn't it still be spring driven?  i really prefer the extractor to the ejector.

The easy ejector to extractor just eliminates the the ejector throwing the spent case out of the chamber allowing you to remove it manually, it won't prevent sticking brass, it's still spring powered. A factory style extractor has mechanical leverage to pry to spent case out if needed.

Tim, is it possible to buy one somewhere?  I tried comparing the extractor from my superlight to the ejector in this one and they weren't interchangeable.

The underlug is different on them, you have to modify it to make it work with an extractor, see the FAQs, it's not just a matter of swapping out parts.

As far as I know I read everything I could find in the FAQ.  So now I need to know where I can buy an extractor....or would I have to send it for in for that?

If you do the hybrid extractor, you can use your ejector, but you need to order the extractor cam and leaf spring from H&R.
