If I could get S&W to make these
« on: December 26, 2009, 11:56:51 AM »
I would like to have a double action revolver in the K-frame size chambered in 44 Special.  I think this would be a great wheelgun with 4" barrel and high luster blue finish.  What do you think?  In fact, it wouldn't have to have the Smith name on it to fulfull my fantasy!

I just wish they would bring back the Model 19 Combat magnum in 4". The K frame was a perfect fit for it. And while they were at it, the Model 13 also 357 mag on the K frame. 3" on that one.

Contact a member here that goes by Drilling Man? He's got one for you to look at. I beleive he's posted a couple time on the Double Action forum here, if not on several threads there?

  Here ya go guys,

This is my model 19 Combat magnum, 4" bbl., chambered in 44 spl...

I've always loved "K" frames, and i've been shooting this one for many years now.  It's put a lot of small game on my table...

Drilling Man, where did the cylinder come from?   Is the barrel off a Model 29 or 24?  Did you have it made or buy it in this configuration?

The bbl and cylinder were made and installed by master pistol smith, Vern Ewer.  I told him how i wanted it made, and he did all the work.  Last i heard, he won't do any smithing for the public, as the Gov. keeps him busy doing jobs for them.
