I am looking for a new trigger for my Savage 110 .270. I want one that has a lower pull weight than factory. Can anyone help me out?

Brownell's and Midwayusa both carry replacement triggers for Savage rifles.

Do those replacement triggers have a lighter pull weight or are they original replacements? Are they worth buying and is the performance up to par?

There are several commercial triggers that fit Savages - running the gamut from Rifle Basix to Canjars. Cost follows accordingly.

The standard Savage can be monkeyed with to a degree and I got along for quite a while that way. I recently traded into a .223 Savage FP with a Canjar in it ($$$) with the little set-trigger blade that pops out and DAMN!! I can't be trusted with something like that! The unset pull is excellent too at about 2 lbs.

Depending on what you want to make of it, it may be to your advantage to have a local gunplumber adjust the issue trigger.

I had the trigger on mine taken down to about 3-3.5#s. The gentleman said it wasn't wise to try to lower with the 110's. I never had a problem with the rifle in the 4 years I kept it, shot 3/4 groups all day. Oh, he charged me $11. He was an honest old man who wasn't trying to rob anyone, said it took him about 15 minutes.

I had the smithy at the shop fix up the trigger on my 116. He put it around 3lbs and removed the creep. Charged me $30. Absolute world of difference.

Thanks guys, i think i will take it to the gunsmith instead of ordering a whole new trigger. Most of you said the factory trigger could be taken down to 3-3 1/2 pounds and thats exactly where i wanted it to be.
