Standard contour 22" which "should" come with sights, and 20" Superlight scope mount only, 1:9" twist for both. They've never offered a bull barrel, although Shaner has a one off 24" Hornet bull barrel that he lucked into one day when he called Gardner, they may have made more, but no one has every fessed up about it if they have one!! ;D

I recently found a used 22 hornet hand in a gun shop.  First it definitely appeared to be a heavy barrel.  Second it appeared to be stainless, or at least nicklel finish.  It was old enough to have an ejector and the curved forearm like my 1991 vintage handi.  Stock was black with high comb for scope shooting.  I had never seen a handi quite like it really.

You didn't buy it?  ??? The standard barrel is pretty heavy, I bought a used 30-30 barrel which looked stainless, but it was just painted, very nicely tho.

Shaner, that's that nice looking green stock too, I remember that too!

No, I was traveling on business.  I have to mull over gun purchases, well virtually all of my spending decisions it drives my wife nuts.  Plus it was pretty beat-up and they were asking $200 for it.  The barrel was much heavier than the 223 barrel I have.  It was at Glauber's Sports in Carrollton, KY.

Even the superlight barrel does not heat up much, I found I can shoot a lot in average temps if you limit shots to 1 per minute or thereabouts. I figure a regular barrel has to do even better than that.

I have a .22 Hornet in stainless [or some type of brushed nickel] that I bought used at an auction. It came with a 20 guage barrel of the same finish and a black cordura factory case that everything fits into nicely. The stock is wood with a Schnabel fore-end, has an ejector, and the end of the barrel measures roughly .650. I assumed this was a heavy barrel model but may be mistaken. I believe this was manufactured in the late '80s.
