How does the handi's handle the lesser priced 223 ammo ??? Hard Primers ???

I have a 1988 vintage .223 barrel with 1 in 12" twist that absolutely would not shoot them. I finally got one to go off after dropping the hammer 4 or 5 times. With my normal reloads using CCI primers it shoots first time, every time. YMMV

My 223 does just fine with the 52gr bthp ULTRAMAX ammo.
Have never had a misfire and it shoots just as good as the higher priced big name brands.

My new heavy barreled 1:9 Handi would not shoot Wolf 55 grain bullets worth a crap.  Lake City 55 gr remanufactured ammo shot about 1-1/4" at 100 yds though.

I never thought about it, mine has eaten everything I fed it. For general shooting with factory loads, mine likes win. white box 45-55 gr. FMJ, or HP. For really tight groups, mine loves win. supreme 45 gr. ballistic silvertips CXP1. I've got about 15 different bullet/powder combos I've reloaded that need to be tested.

I just discovered that my Handi Bull barrel likes Fiocchi 50gr. V max.  I buy them for $12 a box.
