Changed the stock on my SB2 today and guess what I found

I put my BC stock on today. It really didn't need much fitting to my surprise.

The real surprise was taking the old one off. I took the butt plate off and instead of a hole, there was a steel rod held in place with a screw.
I thought that thing seemed heavy for wood.

Anyway, I left the rod out on the new one and filled the hole with #4 shot. Adds a little more weight.

If you read the FAQs thoroughly, you would have known about the steel rod, but that may take a lot more time than most want to spent reading, and if you're old, you would probably have forgotten what you read when you first started reading there by the time you finish!!! 

I used a lead filled pipe instead of shot before I bought an mercury recoil reducer, easy to remove or install and weighs more, but the MRR is more effective and weighs less.
