handi breaks down when fired??? anybody else?

I've bought a handi in a 243 and when you fire the gun some how the barrel wants to break down (open up ) and the spent hull wont eject and the barrel wont relatch.   I can take a cleaning rod slide it down the barrel and lightly peck on the spent hull and it ejects and the barrel functions normal as can be,   put in a live round and every thing works fine until it's fired and then the malfunction repeats it's self.   Was wonderin if the previous owner may have swaped the barrel and the fit aint just rite, just a thuoght.

 Thanx a bunch, I was readin thru some of ot just a second ago, I figured ther mite be sumthin ther.   The price on the little gun was rite enuff that thers room to do some work on it if need be, I'm hopin to make a coyote gitter out of it.
