Death of pick one: 1) Federalism 2) Republican party
« on: September 15, 2009, 12:14:09 PM »
It looks like the nation is poised to forget the evils of the republican party since the GW Bush. So what are we going to do? Forgive and forget about the misdeeds of the republicans, thereby giving up on the concept of federalism because we are allowing either of two power hungry monsters to control the country? Or do we insist on federalism by asserting state rights, and let the republicans hang out to dry?

I believe that both national parties can go to ****.  It must be up to the states to take back the power that is in the Constitution.  I left the R party in 1990; I left the Libertarian party in 1994.  I do not know where to turn except to vote out the incumbents and hopefully that will happen this next election cycle.  Then we need to have a term limit amendment that limits the Senators to 1 term and the Representatives to 2 terms only.  To stop the bureaucracy from taking control it will then be up to the states to rein them in.  This will take gonads.. do we as a country have them?  Perhaps we should make the Senators elected by the state legislatures as it was before 1917.

The way things are going the "Federal" party is back bigger and badder then ever. No State rights, no personal rights, no corporate rights.  It's what the Federal government says or nothing. Even when you have nothing they are going to try and collect 2.5% for your new Federal health plan. Guest they will take it out of my social security payments.
