I've been using H&R Shotguns and pistols for 30 years but recently I got the urge for a Handi Rifle. I bought an SB2 with the heavy 12 ga slug barrel with the idea of rechambering it for the 12FH. I got some full bore round balls and started working up loads and fell in love. My Guide gun might stay in the rack this year.

Next, I want to get a 45/70 barrel (My favorite). I came over here because there are a lot of tinkerers and ton of good information.

Welcome, this is the best place to find info on the Handi and lots of other stuff.  I spent a couple of hours today reading the previous posts about the 35 Whelen.

Hi Peternap, welcome.  Get that .45-70 barrel....you're gonna love it.  There's lots of info here on loads for it.  They're one of the "in demand" calibers here, but you may find one in these classifieds.  Those of us that have them don't let them go very often.
