frame question

i found a case colored NM frame with a small firing pin in it at an auction and its wearing a 20 gauge pardner barrel could this be a sb2 from one of the combos and the rifle barrel got lost

Take the buttstock off and look at the receiver where the screw is attached.

If it's solid it's SB1, if it's SB2 it will be skeletonized.
My culled down Handi's are the 45-70, and then I have a few others to keep it company...357 Mag/Max. .45 LC/.454 Casull Carbine, .243 Ultra, and 20 gauge Tracker II.

problem is i havent bought it dont want it if it is an sb1 just want the action and it might be reasonable

Did ya look at the pics? There's a distinct difference in SB1 and SB2 appearance, the SB1 is cast iron and looks like it, the SB2 is much smoother and just looks different internally.

Apparently so, some have reported them. But it's a matter of perspective, without having two side by side to compare and measure, it's hard to know for sure, the size of the hole in the frame can make the pin look bigger or smaller. There have been at least 3 different firing pin diameters reported in a recent thread on the subject. I wouldn't rely on the pin size to determine what frame it is.
