44 mag Handis
« on: July 20, 2009, 04:00:36 AM »
Has anyone else been looking for a Handi in 44 mag?  I sent a frame in to have an extra barrel in 44mag fitted.  After 9 months, when they said they still didn't have any 44 barrels, I told them to send it back.
I was in Gander Mountain in Tyler, TX yesterday and found a bunch of them, on clearance no less.  They have both iron sighted and scope based models with synthetic stock for $250.

Just thought I wouod pass it on.

That is a clearance price? I had my local shop order me an SB1 a month ago. They got is from JSC and it was $20 less to me no tax.

Gander Mountain is like Bass Pro.  Their prices are a little high.  Normal price was $280. Was $250 a good deal on a Handi? Probably not.  A good deal on one I have been trying to get for a year?  Absolutely.  I only posted in case there were others looking specifically for a 44 mag.

That's what you get when you get in a hurry.  ::) They only took a little over 300 days to fit and return my .44 barrel.  You were so close. ::)

Yes, but the guy who was behind him is going to be much happier! ;D
My culled down Handi's are the 45-70, and then I have a few others to keep it company...357 Mag/Max. .45 LC/.454 Casull Carbine, .243 Ultra, and 20 gauge Tracker II.
