Yup, dug up from the graveyard!!  ::) Walmart did away with layaway about 2yrs ago, about the time they quit selling firearms at most stores.  :-\

Tim

The new 2007 Special Order Catalog does not list prices.  With the last 2 rifles that I have ordered for customers, I had to look up the price in the computer.  The 243 HB that I ordered the other day was $227, which is the same as the online listing.  Our firearms section on the website is........weak.  I would strongly advise following the procedure of:

going to the store
getting someone to call Sports South to verify onhand
order the rifle at Jewelry (new change because of no layaway)

Kinda new to gbo and i decided to start at the back and work foward saw this thread and had to put in my 2 cents. The wal-mart in cortland N.Y. stills has firearms and priced me a handi 30-30 for $245 and told me 4-7 days delivery. but after the expierience with the topper deluxe I'm still a bit leary, and the shop up the road from me will probubly be about $269. and Cortland is an hour drive for me. So again i think I'll buy local

there is no sense in special ordering a firearm if Sports South, Lipsey's, whoever our distributor is  for that firearm, doesn't have it in stock.  You will just be wasting your time.

Five years?  There doesn't seem to be a statute of limitations on bashing Walmart, eh?

I've priced a few in the last 6 weeks with Walmart and what used to be a at least 20% savings is now gone .RRARM's prices are right in line with Wally even with the shipping and fees. kurt
