rough opening G2

I have a new G2 action that opens normally with a factory carbine 22 H barrel. i have just received a 17 FB custom barrel. When opening the gun, it seems rough, like something is rubbing excessively. Will that smooth out with use? Should I do anything other than shoot it?

You might just need to polish the locking bolts/lugs on the 17 barrel. If you do a search for "polish locking lugs/bolts", you should find the step by step on how to do it. It's easy and no big deal. I've been lucky so far and not had to, but it's not uncommon.
