my custom savage semi-auto carbine 22lr
« on: May 31, 2009, 03:39:37 PM »
started as a new $110 walmart savage 64 . i cut and crowned the barrel at 16 1/2 inches polished the trigger componets completly reshaped the stock , free floated the barrel and bedded the action . i did all the work my self includeing the goofy looking camo and lexan sling mounts .

its a tack driver with cci mini mags , cci stingers and remington target . the second time out squirrel hunting with it i got 4 the most i have ever goten with a rifle . up until i got this gun done i used my .410 , but i like the 22 as it dose less damage and its much nicer cleaning a head shot squirrel than one hit every were with #6 shot .
these are old pics , i will get new ones tomorrow .

what do ya think ?
