Black or Grizzly

All,

I have a trail camera set up that was once mauled by a Grizzly. The pictures are in the post started by Sourdough. It still takes pictures pretty well, but some turn out blurred. I have several pictures of blacks like this one below, but I also have a few of a brown bear as in the color brown. What do you think it is a Griz or Cinnamon Blackie.

Black for sure.

 If a grizzly was coming in I wonder if the blacks would stay clear.

The last Grizzly came on May 20th. I stopped baiting for over a week and that's all it took for the Grizzly to loose interest. The stand is not very close to any rivers and that's where most Griz are headed.

Three years ago I had an injured Grizzly come to the bait stand. I ran him off twice, then I had a Black bear try to come in. The Griz ran off the Black, so I decided to let the Griz eat the bait. After all, how could I leave if the Griz was guarding the bait stand. Once I saw all that happen for myself, I just give the bait a break, but don't give up on Blacks even if Griz are in the area.

Have talked to the biologist and several guides.  They all say that once the bait is gone the Grizzly will move on.  It will be two to six weeks before it comes back, depending on the size of it's territory.  Boars cover larger areas than sows.

KP:  I went to my old bait station yesterday.  The bugs were horrible.  Mosquitoes biting through my jeans and shirts.  Bite on hands through leather gloves.  Cutters did not phase them.  Came back to Hess Creek and tried calling.  No luck.

The Grayling and Char were veracious.  They hit every fly or spinner I threw into the water.

Rog,

I checked the stand yesterday (June 14th), during a down pour. I had over 100 pictures of this bear. His hide looked really good until June 12th. Now he has 2 big rub marks. I hope he is the only one like that. Check him out.
