How do you scope a 10" Vented ribbed barrel?
« on: June 07, 2009, 08:22:11 PM »
If I choose to keep my 357 Hot shot barrel with the rib, how do I mount a scope to it? There are no holes in the rib and no cross slots to mount rings directly to it.

Off hand the only thing I can think of short of having the rib tapped where the square lugs mount rib to the barrel is to use one of the set of rings that are made to clamp on a 22 rifle and even that might not be strong enough to take the recoil TC has a set of girilla rings and base that is about the width of the rib. You might ask the TC answer man he should have the answer.

I thought about the same thing but I cant see how it wouldn't slide under recoil. The rib is very thick and clamp type rings wouldn't be able to grab onto it. I'll contact TC

I used a vent rib mount made for shotguns..B-Square makes one.  I had to use beefier screws to hold the rib in place as my heavy 45LC loads stripped the factory screw heads off!  allowed me to use a Tasco red dot sight with the .45 and the .410.

you could look at rib riders, not sure if they make them in the right size for that rib though.

good luck
