700 SPS STAINLESS
« on: June 13, 2009, 04:49:25 PM »
I just picked up a new 700 sps stainless last weekend, i was shocked to see it had an x-pro trigger supercell pad and what appears to be trynite finish. I asked my ffl friend about it he said it should not be this way, should be r3 pad standard trigger and no trynite finish. I have looked at the new catalog 2009 and it should not be this way. It does have the sps stock, does anyone know if rem. changed sps mid year. Hello everyone first post long time reader any help would be great thank you

They aren't using the R3 pads any more.  Even the Walmart ADLs have the X-Mark Pro trigger.

RED132,

Not sure about the finish or the recoil pad, but the trigger is suppose to be an X-Mark Pro for 2009. In fact it is suppose to be the externally adjustable version. Here is an excerpt from Remington regarding the trigger and the link to see the entire press release:

The X-Mark Pro Adjustable Trigger now comes standard on all new 2009 Model 700™ and Model Seven™ bolt-action rifles. For true custom performance in a production-grade rifle, look for Remington centerfire rifles with the new X-Mark Pro Adjustable Trigger.

The new rifle sounds really nice Jeff. Good shooting to you and welcome to the forum.
