Go to    http://www.swage.com/ebooks.htm   and down load Mr Corbin's Handbook #8, and store the download for review at your leasure. Then download the pictures for the Handbook and do the same. That will give you 99% of the info on bullet swaging that you'll need at the basic level.  As far as caliber to start on, suggest either .224 or .308 as those bullets comprise at least 50% of all rifle bullets that are used in this country. Of course, if you have a pistol, recommend you get a lead bullet die ( with Base guard capability) in that caliber. However, before spending a dime, read the Handbook, and look at the prices being asked at Corbin Co, RCE, BSS, and CH/4D. It wouldn't hurt to read most of the threads on this board after you read the Handbook. While it's easy to learn of the benefits of bullet swaging, I should mention the 3 biggest downsides:  Up front cost, delays in getting swaging tools, and acquiring jackets above .30 caliber. Too, google "Bullet Swaging" and find other boards to look at. While I perfer "Graybeard's", from time to time I learn from other sourses.

 Check the classified add sections on gun forums for used equipment, check ebay, and check the gunshows too.

 I really suggest posting a "WTB" and "WTT" advertisement on the gunforums for used swaging equipment as well.  There are alot of guys who got equipment that has been sitting unused for a decade or two and they will sell or trade for something that they will use.

Another thought, Mr. Dave Corbin, corbins.com etc., has a directory of bullet makers on his web site(s)... many use Corbin equipment (surprise?)... If you can find one in your area you might get some personal tootilege, counsel, etc. (Not to mention, as suggested, cheap old equipment...)... luck.
