Found a nice Carry case last night
« on: June 13, 2009, 11:11:54 PM »

I was looking for a way to carry a Handi broken down when my son came up with the idea of using the cloth zipper case from a Marlin Papoose. There is a pocket inside for the barrel to slip in and velcro straps to hold the action secure. With everything folded up the forend is secure between the two. If anyone know of a different case that works any better I'd like to see them. BTW this works for a 22" barrel.

I have one that I got from NEF many years ago.  Cloth case with velcro to hold compartments closed.  Folds in the middle with nylon handles on the top.  Has the NEF logo printed on the side.  Sold as an accessory item.  Don't remember the price.  Does not hold barrels with scopes.

I'm looking for a hard case.

A 'Veteran' -- whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve -- is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America,' for an amount of 'up to, and including his life.' That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country today who no longer understand that fact.

I have the Cabelas Encore Handi soft case, it works well for two scoped barrels, there's a thread or two on them and other cases in the FAQs. The Versa Pack case was last listed in their accessory catalog at $22.50 part #R02844, but as stated, won't work for scoped barrels.

Rog, take a look at break-down shotgun cases, I bought one marked Winchester from Cabelas for $60 that is "31 long, works perfect for an H&R.  ;)

I seen these and finally picked one up:

It's a great deal for $14, rugged on the out side and real soft inside. Plus it's got a shoulder strap.
I will probably pick up another if they last.
