Questions on Belgium Superposed

A friend of mine here at work is thinking of selling his Belgian Browning Superposed 12 S69, wants me to help.
w/ orig. factory fitted case.
Model STX
Ivory sights.
Choked skeet/skeet.
How do I find a reasonable price for it?
He says it is a 'Lightning', ser # 16XXX
90% plus condition.
I have to throw this out there, anything over $200 and I'm lost, I'm an H&R/Mosin Nagant shooter!

Well it is for sure worth just a bit more than $200. 

Most gun dealers use the Blue Book value or at least around here do. One used some online site which I've not noticed yet to see which site he goes to but I'm fairly sure it's an auction site like Gun Broker or such.

I've not seen a Belgian Superposed sell around here in so long I'd hate to say what their value is these days but the last ones I saw go didn't bring much if any more than a Citori unless they were higher grade than Grade I which I take it this one is. I doubt it's worth over $1000-$1250 or at least would not be in my area. What the national market might be I dunno.

I've been looking thru issues of Shooting Sportsman trying to locate this model gun but have not found one. The closest I've come so far is this:

A Belgian made Superposed made in 1961 12 ga. 28" barrels Mod/Full. Condition stated only as VERY CLEAN. Priced at $1599.

That is not to say it will sell for that but that is the asking price. I've found nothing so far any closer to what you have asked about.

rio grande - That Browning Superposed, SN 16,XXXS69  was made in 1969, and should be a Grade I Lightning(weight) New Model Skeet (first introduced in 1968).

A 90% example has a BB value of $1000, +/- (depending on demand/area), w/o the $150 case.
Subtract 20% if it has 26" barrels.

For comparison, one in 100% condition has a BBV of $1700, +/-.

Browning transitioned over to a specialized skeet shotgun in 1968-69. The shotgun should have a wide "beaver tail"  forearm. From the trigger to the stock dimensions it is specialized shotgun for Skeet shooting not hunting which detracts from it overall value and appeal. If there is a clays, skeet and trap range close by I would post it there. Unfortunately it is in the Salt Wood range of mfg. and will have to be checked for any damage. To the right person $1300 ish would not be out of the question - to a gunshop you would be luck to get a 1k offer - it it is a salt wood reduce values by 60% or more depending on the extent of the damage.
