On Social Security ? Get an unexpected check recently from the govt ?

  Checks going out to SS recipients..seems like a surprise we did not expect. Keep in mind the phrase R. Reagan warned us about.."I'm from the government, and I'm here to help"...
      The Marxists new scheme is to place those who worked all their lives on the same footing as those who refused to work all their lives.
  They want those who live on SS to be on welfare as soon as the Obama-caused inflation hits. Here is their latest scheme, according to this letter I picked up on a financial forum...We are in serious Marxist trouble friends..

It is not $200 as stated in that article but $250 and is a one time payment to those who draw social security or SSI checks. It is just another part of the obama stimulus package and all who get such checks got a notice about it 2-3 months or so back shortly after he went in office as I recall. I had forgotten about it really until my son's check came yesterday.

Funny that this was posted today.  My nanny just called and asked If I wanted to take Evan and Bradley with her and Harley to go to 6 flags next weekend.  She said the gov sent her an extra $250 and she wanted to spend it on the boys.  Guess this worked out good for me, but at the same time it goes to show that your hard earned money is more often than not is being blown on things people don't really need.

Yea, I had gotten that letter a week or so ago.  Had forgotten all about it till I read this.  I'll add it to what I already have set aside to buy a S&W .460.  That $250.00 will put me over the mark.

Nope don't think so. It's merely a small part of the stimulus package from the early days of his administration just finally getting to the folks.

 I cannot accurately comment, but the letter writer said he inquired of the bean-counters in the accounting dept where he works, and they said it was in a "one time" check to cover reducing annual COLA to no more than 1/2 of 1% per year.
   I can recall when "Jimmie" was pres and the huge inflation hit..20% per year loss in each dollar's value... Such is likely to happen again when the printing presses start rolling.
 
 If the writer (& his accountants) are correct and you have $10,000 in a savings acct..3 years later it's real value will be equal to $4,000...

  If your monthgly SS check is $1200, within 3 years it will only buy about $700 worth of goods & services..even allowing for the 1/2% per year adjustment.

   Sounds just like congress..keep and even increase, their COLA..but rob the hard earned SS checks of John Q..

democratic inflation is well known to most of us, when they're in office they always print more money and generally spread it around unevenly to make favor in some people eyes. this $250 is part of the stimulus package started under Bush not Obama and yes this is to stimulate the economy which means spend it on whatever you wish to help stimulate whether it's a park like 6 flags, general motors or it's the electric company that gets the money it's helping to keep our economy going so spend it don't sit on it like hoarders.

is inflation going to get worse ? well look back in time you'll see how the democrats operate.
