Steve and I went hog hunting friday, saturday and sunday. He took his old savage 110 270 and I took my 30-06. Even before we got there it was really raining but it tapered off to a heavy drizzle. When we got there we found the hogs had emptied both feeders and hog toys the week before. They busted one spinner box off and the barrel emptied 4 bags of corn out to the glee of the hogs, not one kernal left. The other feeder they dug out one leg and it's T-post and then proceeded to shake the feeder till it was dry, this must have talen some time, not one kernal of 200 pounds of corn left. Our hog toys hold 50 pounds of corn and both were empty, not one kernal. We filled all 2 weekends ago. 500 pounds of corn gone and it looked like they did it the week before. Well we filled the hog toys, put out some spoiled corn at the feeders and sneaked up on the feeders and 12am and 4am friday and saturday plus watched baited spots in morning and evening to no avail. The wheat the ranchers grow on adjacent properties for their cows now had their attention since they got all my corn last week. My Handi showed not a speck of rust though it was wet most of the weekend due to being wiped down with Armorall Protectant. I shot a jackrabbit for coyote bait with it, a head shot at 80 yards then set up a trap which caught a raccoon. A long tiring weekend. The Handi rifle with it's short overall length was perfect for getting in and out of the truck and the small 4' by 4' box blinds. It also balanced perfectly to be carried at the reciever, I like this barrel taper a lot better than the 44 magnum's bull barrel.
