Windage Adjustment Strategies for Post Tang Mounted Sights
« on: April 19, 2009, 07:33:34 AM »
I have a Lyman tang mounted rear sight without windage adjustment built-in mounted on one of my rifles and it is way off. Can anyone advise on ways of getting the windage set. I don't want to move the front sight as the adjustment is too great.

Thanks

Mc

You are going to have to move either the front or rear sight.  You could have the screw holes in the tang sight milled into slots to give you some left/right adjustment or you can move the front sight.  Those are your choices.  It might be possible to pull the pivot pin of the sight and remove the post, them mill the slot wider and then shim it in the direction you want to go.
