another .500 factory sight question

phatgemi, or anyone else with an open sighted Handi .500 S&W barrel, are the issue open sights on your .500 S&W plastic or steel?. I have a .500 S&W barrel and the sights are plastic and am wondering if they all came with plastic open sights? I would of course prefer steel but do not know what came on the .500's from the factory....<><....:)

Mine are also plastic on my new .500 bbl I just got . I feel fortunate to have 2 differant sets of steel one set on my SS Huntsman bbl and another one that is not as tall in my box of goodies. Did H&R ever sell them in steel or are these remenants of my Encore days? The SS Huntsman sports a scope so that one will probly go on the 500 S&W when I am ready to ring it out. Kurt
