38 special question..............
« on: April 01, 2009, 10:03:16 AM »
Can I use small pistol magnum primers for 38 special both standard velocity and plus p ?
Powder would probally be unique, the old 2400 or  AA # 2. Bullets would be cast 148 or 158 grain.

Some books say magnam primers make no differance, and some say to reduce starting loads.

:) One of the books I have suggest mag. primers for 2400. The others used std. I have used mag.s without a problem, but as said a little reduction might be wise, and try a few before loading very many. ;)  I am trying to come up with some AA #5. It is suppose to be excellent in the .38 sp. without the mess of Unique or 2400. ;D Never tried # 2 :-\
