My New Max, by MGM
« on: March 04, 2009, 01:41:32 PM »
I received my new 14" SS Dodecagon barrel from MGM a couple days back. Fantastic looking barrel from some fantastic folks at MGM. I dressed Max in a 3X12 Burris scope with some fantastic looking wood from TC Dave (thats me). Max is set up and throated to shoot Hornady 180gr.XTP. Come fall I hope to give him a workout on deer.

That's some pretty wood on that excellent gun, almost too pretty to shoot.

OK, Dave, somebody's gotta ask. How many sides on a Dodecagon?  I'm guessing 12, but I really couldn't tell.  BTW...another gorgeous addition to your collection.  When you go huntin' or shootin' how in the heck do you pick out which one of those good looking things to dance with.  Must be tough!!!   GOOD SHOOTIN', Walt  ;)

I hope your pistol does not get treated the way I treat my car.  I made it TOO pretty and it sits in the garage where it cannot get dirty or wet.  Your pistol is obvious a piece of beautiful art.  I hope you take it out and shot the psssss out of it...  ;D   What finish did you use on the wood?

I will try and answer the questions. Yes it is a 12 sided barrel, my second. It is a SS G2 with a 14" MGM barrel. It will get shot and hunted with just like it is. The grip and forearm I made. If it gets nick or scratched, the finish will be redone once deer season is over.

Great looking gun Dave.  I got a Max barrel on order from MGM, and I found a used set of forearm and grip (reportedly made by you) from another site.  I don't think it will look as good as yours but I will be just as happy with it!
If I agreed with you then we would both be wrong.
