After looking for a S&W 657 4" for so long, I figured I would never find one.  Then I see a 3" version for sale on the internet, and I went out and got it.  Now I see a 4" for sale in the local paper, right around HERE!  If I had more play money I would buy this one too.  But the house needs painting, the wife wants new curtains, I got some landscaping plans, the dog might get sick....

I feel your pain!!

A lot of times I've bought something on the spur of the moment or something that was 'pretty much' what I wanted - only to have something that I REALLY want or had been looking for show up!!? :x

Just recently I found a NIB Springfield Armory M1A that had an asking price of only $800.!   And I had just spent my "gun fund" money a few days before that on something that I don't even remember what it is now!??? :(

The only consolation w/the M1A was that I told a friend about it and he bought it, so I got to shoot it!!  The only problem was, THEN I REALLY WANTED IT!! :grin:

Oh well that is part of 'the disease', sometimes your ok, sometimes it's a lot worse, but it never seems to go away! :)

Raging480:  Schmdit happens Man.  And the same dang thing happened to me with a bunch of Winchester Big Bores in 444.  I had one and didn't think I would find another.  Then the second one shows up and it is soooo purdy that I couldn't say no, so I put a down payment on it.  But, then the last one came around and I put a down payment on that too.  Looks like I'll be payin' for this for a looooong time.   Mikey.

It never ends man!! The list of guns ive got keeps getting longer but the list of ones I want does too (at a mutch higher rate though).  Every time I scratch one off I add two or three more. At this rate Ill have to buy one a week for the rest of my life, nah, that still wouldnt do it.

I own a salt-water boat.  Don't buy one, they're addictive and cut into my wife-support funds heavily.  Also keeps me from getting new guns.

:D Hey there Brush Hunter,

I have heard that a boat is just a hole in the water you pour money into, and some personal experience seems to bear that out.

Guess the same can be said for an empty spot in the gun corner.

Think we should all just relax and enjoy it and maybe come up with an expanding gun cabnet like Pat McMannis writes about.  Seemed to work for Pat as his wife, Bun, didn't catch on even after she made the observation that she must be slowing down as the gun cabnet which had only taken a couple of minutes to dust was now taking 20 minutes.

Maybe we could request that he write another column about the cabnet and this time give details and instructions for construction.

On second thought, a better idea is to contact him myself and then start building/selling the cabnets.  Should sell like hotcakes once the word gets out. I can clean up quick like and live in the manner to which I would like to become accustomed.
