I think if I owned one of those I would use "000" buckshot load with five pellets. A single "000" pellet measures approximately 0.36" and weighs 70 to 72 grs. In my view, this is the preferred load for defensive shooting.

I agree, the 3" Winchester 000 buck load is the only load I'd consider for defense, although I might augment it with a couple of .45 Colt hard case semi wadcutters in case more penetration is needed. My singleshot Super Comanche with 10" barrel and choke tube makes a fine small game gun with number 6 or 7 1/2 shot but birdshot from the "Judge" is pretty useless beyond a few paces from the rifled barrel. I might buy one when they get around to offering it with 3" chamber and 6" barrel with a choke tube, but for now my Super Comanche is all the .410 I need.
The story of David & Goliath only demonstrates the superiority of ballistic projectiles over hand weapons, poor old Goliath never had a chance.

I agree, if you are attacked by watermelons the .410 is a great choice.  ;)

Went to the gunshow last weekend and a guy had a Judge that he put a contender choke [screw-in] on his and it made a real shooter .  Maybe Taurus could do the same.

I've seen that commercial before, but I really found the behind the scenes bit interesting.  It seems as though everyone involved in the filming fired the weapon and I couldn't help but notice how cold it was wherever they shot it.  It makes me wonder where they were.

FWIW a decent hollow point round will have the same effect on a watermelon at that range.

When a griz charges YOU can shoot him in the head with a 410 round. I'll back you up with the 45 colt.
Just another worthless opinion!!
