From my own use, I always cleaned dyed and waxed my 330's. It will help prevent them from rusting which can weaken a trap over a period of time. Once you wax a 330, take a knife and cut the wax out of the triger notch to prevent it from firing to quick. 330'S are a Powerful trap,be careful, they have been knowin to break trappers arms. Gloves and Boots are nice for the trapper, but the Beaver dont really pay any mind to human scent.

Never,Ever and I repeat,Never,Ever--wax a 330.This tool is not a thing to wax--waxing is for footholds not boddygrippers--a waxed 330 is like smoking while standing in gasoline.
I wash the factory oil from new 330s,then I dip them in Blackies steel coat -mixed with coleman fuel.I only single dip 330s,then I do not have to scrape triggers or dogs. Tom
