Ain't a cannon...but not a rifle either..

I posted these on another site...figured that they would be appreciated here! (Moderators...if in the wrong place, let me know)..

I made these two projects, both with .75 bores.  The first one is a mace-style gonne, turned from a piece of cold rolled steel, with a .50 sub-chamber for powder.  The staff is maple.




The second, a hachebusche, with a oak stock. As in all my projects, I made a cardboard template first:



Here's the finished project:



Here is a close-up of the barrel and the blade, which was forged and hardened.  The barrel straps were also forged by a 'smithy friend.

Good Looking Gonnes, your in the right place! With that kind of beginning, lets see what else you've got! Mortars, cannons, ect? What else do you like to shoot? Good thinking with the cardboard templates, and your smithy friend did a good job on the straps. Thanks for the posting! BoomLover
