Which bbl for replacement ?
« on: March 04, 2009, 06:19:54 AM »
I've got a standard 45-70 ,great litttle rifle, now I'm going to send it in for a bull bbl. .223 or .243 Can't decide. It will be used mainly for varmits. Which would possibly be the best bet for tight groups ?

I'd get the 223. Most seem to be real good shooters and ammo is a whole lot cheaper. If you have the extra money get both while you are at it. You can never have enough Handi's

+1 for the .223. The .243 is fun, but may require work. Mine did.

+ 2 for 223.
If you are looking for accuracy than you have a better chance of finding a loaded round in 223.  More loadings by 3X than 22-250.
