44 Mag to 445 Super
« on: February 03, 2009, 10:44:00 AM »
I just found an SB-1 44 Mag and would like to know if it would be safe to ream this to 445 Super Mag.  I know that the SB1 is only for 357 and 44 mags and shotguns, but not sure about thee 445.
Thanks, Buzz

There is no SAAMI MAP for the 445SM, but AA lists one load at 43.3kcup, with a casehead of .457", you'd be better off using the 445SM on an SB2 frame IMO.

Thanks.  That's what I thought, so if I ream it out I'll use it on my SB2 and save the SB1 to buy some shotgun barrels for.
