I went out trying to call in a coyote this a.m. with no luck,so my F.I.L & I decided to head to the gun range instead.
Recentle had been having trouble with the 243 occasionally not locking up,due to brass being too long(remembere need to full lenght size only) so I broke down all of the ammo that wouldn't lock up on or had trouble ejecting, resized the brass in the full length size die,and re-assembled using 75 gr v-max bullets, and 36 gr varget.
after 3 or for shots to verifythe scope was on, I moved out to the steel gongs I think they are either 500M or 600M, one's a orange steel circle appx 2ft dia.,and the other a steel ram, about the same size. It's difficult to see eithe one with the naked eye
I put a new scope on the rifle last summer it's a centerpoint red/green mildot goes up to 16 power, I figured it'd drop to about the lowest dot and held there, but to my surprise it hit high,so I moved up 2 dots, and struck the round target, then proceeded to try the ram,and hit it several times also. all in all I think I missed once or twice out of about 10 shots, I even tried for the steel drum that sits at the top of the hill. I've been told it's somewhere in the neighborhood of 700M.I hit it twice out of three times.
All in all I had a fun day.I was just about to put the handi up for sale/trade,and look into buying a stevens 200, but I think I'll keep it around for a while
