interesting read....the dakota is a fine rifle indeed...but you could set up a handi for 500 bucks with a real nice scope and have $8,500 left for ammo or brass and bullets

I figured this out early on with my BC.  The difference between how it shoots and how the local Sharpshooters do with their very pricey 45-70's is non-existent out to 300 yards. I can't see a real world hunting situation where a $9K gun wouldn't just be something I'd worry would get scratched.
If he's carrying a singleshot, don't expect a warning shot!

Just the fact that the author chose the Ultra and Dakota for this comparison, speaks VOLUMES to how popular our little "Jewel" is becoming!!!

We all knew it was a winner for some time!!

I'll take the Handi any day... I bought a used 30/30 put on the fancy wood. Factory mounts. Warne rings and a Nikon Pro Staff scope.. Got about $250 in the whole pile. Gun will shoot same hole at 100 yards with Win 170gr Power Point ammo.. Sure beats the 9k.. And I wouldn't cry too much if I dropped it..

Both of my handi's (243 bull and 7mm 08) are MOA or less. Great guns for the price. Charlie
