Never made a folder, just fixed blades, but knifemaking is knifemaking and there's two ways you can go about it. The first way to read books by the experts or look at a video. The second is to buy a locking liner kit and put it together. Gives you some idea of all the parts involved and how they go together. I have to confess I never read a book on making fixed blades, just learned the hard way from scratch; but fixed blades don't have all those itty bitty little parts that have to be stuck inside and work together. I did make several kit knives before I tried making my own, and learned a lot from just doing those. Kits: They have a one handed opener that LOOKS like a liner lock. Don't know if it contains everthing you need(except handle scales) or not. You'd have to call them.
There are a couple of other commonly used catalogs out there from Jantz Supply and K&G, but haven't used them in years. They're both online.
