Was wondering how this mount would work for a scout setup.

A weaver 92A works great as shown in the FAQs.

The contender base will work, you do not need the one you have listed, the barrel has a little taper so it will already put some up into the scope mount.  Get a standard weaver base for a contender, drill and tap the bull barrel at the right place and you will be set for $30.00 less.  Larry

A gun is just like a parachute, if you ever really need one, nothing else will do.

I have the Weaver 92A Contender base on my 500 S&W barrel and it works great!
I drilled and tapped my barrel and installed the four 6-48 screws with 242 Loc-Tite (blue). I mounted a Burris 1.5-4X pistol scope in Weaver Quad Lock rings and it has performed flawlessly.

GOOD SHOOTING!

The reason I was thinking about the EGW is it's longer and has more slots which would give some more eye relief adjustment.

With the right scope, it won't matter, my Weaver 2x28 could be mounted a couple inches closer or farther away and it doesn't change the FOV.  ;)

Alrighty then......I'll use the weaver mount and put extra $$$$$ towards the scope. ;)
