Exotics close to home
« on: July 29, 2006, 05:03:00 AM »
For those of you living in the Houston area here's some good news.I know exotic hunting is very expensive and with the cost of gas going to west and south texas to hunt them is double.
Here's the good news. There is a ranch right outside of winnie ,tx called the Griffith Ranch booking Exotic hunts at  very reasonable prices.I believe they offer Axis,Fallow and Blackbuck and maybe some others. They are listed on a website(southeasttexas.com)
Once main page opens click on outdoors and look for their listing.Contact info is included on their page along with booking info and a description of their hunt packages.I called the number and left a message and got a return call the next day.I was worried about the add since the page had not been updated recently but was assured the hunts are still available for about the same pricing. The pricing is the most reasonable I have seen anywhere.

So good luck and good Hunting

Mark, when you see this, is it the place we were looking at some time back just outside of town that had such a small acreage? Maybe under 100 acres as I recall?

Hey GB,  that place was called Cougar Run Ranch, and it was located towards Cleveland Texas, N/E of Houston.  I took a look at that link and it is not the same palce...    Looks like a kinda small place to boast some many species of exotics.   I am not saying canned hunt or anything, but it seems small at 234 acres to even have cow elk...
