The 390 barrel will NOT fit a 303. I tried to fit a hasting 390 barrel onto my 303 and the gas cylinder on the 390 barrel is about 1/4 inch closer to the receiver than the barrel for the 303. Hastings stopped making the 303 barrel many years ago so you have to look for new old stock or a used one. Took me a couple of years to find a barrel. Note: a barrel for a 302 will fit your 303 but you will be limited to 2 3/4 inch shells. The only factory slug barrels for a 303 are smooth bores. Good luck looking for a barrel. In my opinion the 303 with a fully rifled barrel is a great deer gun. I have shot slugs up to 1 3/8 oz and turkey loads to 1 7/8 oz though this gun with no cycling issues.
