Custom barrel
« on: July 26, 2003, 05:57:00 AM »
:?:  I ordered an Encore barrel back in January from Dave Van Horn and have heard nothing from him.  Has anyone here used him before and what kind of service did you get ?  Is there any chance I could get my money back?  Thanks

I sent two barrels to Dave for rechambering sometime in late Feb. It took a little longer that Dave had indicated, but not much. I might add that he did outstanding work and they are both very accurate. Have you spoken to him about the situation? I never had any trouble getting him on the phone. Matter of fact, he did the job for me with no money up front and he is still waiting for the custom dies I'm having made for us as payment for the work. Let us know how things work out.

It takes longer with Dave, but it's worth it.

I ordered one of my 300 Whisper barrels from Dave and was supposed to receive it in 4-6 weeks, and it was 5 months before it arrived in the mail. It was worth the wait, but wish I'd known up front that it was going to take so long.

I have talked to him on the phone three times and every time he said he would have it out in 10-12 days.  The last time I talked to him I asked if there was any way I could get my money back and he said he was having some legal problems.   I see why.   Eight months for an Encore barrel is too long.   I built my house in 6 months.
