Greetings out there from the Lone Star State. I purchased a new oncore 290 50 cal. yesterday and the dealer was missing the owners manual(will order on mon.) but I certainly wanted to shoot it today. Before I do I need to figure out how to get the ejector out for cleaning purposes. And from what I've seen posted, may just leave it out. I can break the rifle down easily enough, and even removed a small flat head screw on the side of and just in front of the ejector assy. but that did nothing. I did notice a small roll pin, does that need to be removed? Thanks for any help.

:)  :)   Hello, Some Encores have screws,or pins to to hold there extracters in place,   whatever your is ,  it will be the pin or screw that is closest to the barrel... With the forarm removed, just underneath your barrel , and to the left of your lug,  youll see a small potrusion, this will be the other end of your extractor, you may have to tap lightly,towards your breach end of your barrel,   not usually necacearry, but might be stuck, via, varnish or oil.    Bruce....

Break over you barrel and you should see a black screw(flat head) to the right side of the breech plug and below the barrel. With the forend stock removed and the barrel taken off you can turn it counterclockwise and pull the extractor out.Then you can remove the breech plug.Im not sure yours is the same but that is how mine works.

BTW, Why are people saying to leave the extractor out? Just curious.

Your gun will function fine without the extractor. This will allow you to remove the breech plug without taking the gun apart. Or you can purchase the " flip away" extractor from T/C. but why?.....

A word of advice.  I bought one of those flip away extractors from TC.  The little pin that holds the two peices together broke on the very first shot.  I sent it back to Fox Ridge and got my money and shipping cost returned.

Yeah, do away with the extractor and just flip those primers out with your fingernail or small knife :grin: , sure does make it a whole lot easier to clean :lol: , Ben.

I took my extractor out to do the range work. Some of the time I had to extract the primer with a small screwdriver or knife blade. I am going to put the extractor back in for hunting purposes. I don't want to have to fumble around with a screwdriver while trying to load another "if necessary" shot. My .02 Mike
