Does Remington make a custom version of the 7600 rifle?
« on: June 18, 2003, 06:33:55 AM »
:D Hi:

Does anyone know if Remington makes in their custom shop a custom version of the Remington 7600 rifle? Was looking for a Remington 7600  to  use for coyote hunting. Either a .220 swift , 22-250, or .250 Savage.

                                                                       Thanks,

They used to offer flossy versions with inlays and engraving but I don't much care for all that so I can't say whether they still do or not.

One version I was interested in was a 7600P, as in Police like their 700's. The 7600P is in .308 and .223 with 16" barrels, black plastic furniture and a phosphate finish of some description. I saw a .308 advertised once (BIG $$) but have never seen a .223. Oughta make a primo truck gun!

I emailed Rem about it and never received a response. Oh well.

Coyote Trapper 1928,
It used to be that the Remington Custom Shop would do any work you wanted to pay for. Their internet site is:
http://www.remington.com/firearms/custom/custom.htm
You can contact them and negotiate their work.
Good luck

I asked them to put a .35 Whelen barrel, (listed on their web page as a part and available) onto a 7400. Humm.... seemed simple enough since they had already produced such previously.

The answer was no, can't do it. :(
