Small consolation, but something anyway

It appears that we "dodged the bullet" regarding the Illinois constitutional convention which was on the ballot -

presumably this would have given Daley and the anti's (BO's friends), another legal mechanism to punish law-abiding gun owners,  and,

a clearer path to taxing pensions.

That's one good result, anyway.

I think it's 10 years, isn't it? I'm an election judge in Livingston county and word from voters was "What's wrong with the constitution we have".

I thought it was 20 years, but could be wrong.

With the so many urban liberals on one side of the the teeter-totter vs. us (shrinking group) normal people on the other in this state I would be very nervous about them re-creating our state constitution.

S.B.  I think your voters were asking the right question.

Now, Blagojevich gets to appoint Obama's replacement as senator.  That's reassuring, isn't it?  ::) ::)

I've seen Tammy Duckworth mentioned.  She sounds a hundred times better to me.

I believe I heard that the CCW referendum did well on 10 of the 14 counties where it was on the ballot.  The further you went south the higher the percentage of yes votes.  But nothing will come of that.

I'm retired too, but what this market is doing to me (and especially in the past two days since the election)may force me to go back to work.  But, your right, I'd rather do most anything else than be a politician.
